We’re raising the profile of women engineers for Women in Engineering Day.

Meet Lulu, she joined Energy Solutions as an Inspector in our Test and Inspection team 2 years ago. She was on the lookout for a change of job role that offered exciting career prospects.

Having previously worked for 4 years within a design and manufacturing company that had a sustainability focus, Lulu already had the skillset to flourish with us. Quality assurance (QA) ensures products meet or exceed established quality standards. Lulu’s role Involves techniques aimed at preventing defects, identifying and resolving issues, and improving overall quality throughout the entire lifecycle of a product.

Demonstrating attention to detail is vital and valuable to Lulu’s role and her team. She stated, “We share in our responsibility to develop, build, and produce a good product”. Lulu’s recipe for success is that you should always strives to improve; continuous growth and improvement would be an accomplishment.

Lulu hopes to always improve and grow in her role. We asked her for one piece of advice to someone starting in her field and she responded with some great guidance.

“There is always something new to learn. Therefore, my advice is pay attention, listen and use others experiences to help you”.

So, what does a successful Inspector enjoy outside of work? Lulu loves the outdoors as there is so much to see and experience out there. She enjoys the gym, dancing, and is a keen festival goer. Sharing those experiences with her partner makes everything even better.
